The Tower Grove East neighborhood has experienced an enormous amount of investment and rehabilitation over the last decade, making the mature tree-lined streets and historic homes a true destination of south city. If St. Louis is the brick city, then it's quite possible Tower Grove East is the brick neighborhood; the architecture really must be seen in person to appreciate.
